About Us
Established in 1947, the Greer Baptist Camp Meeting has the honor of being the oldest fundamental, Bible believing, Independent Baptist outdoor camp meeting of its kind. It is traditionally held every summer during the last week of June and first week of July with a special 4th of July Celebration to remember. The camp is located at 1360 Henderson Gap Road, Greer, South Carolina 29650.
Over the last 76 years, the Holy Spirit filled preaching heard by the souls sitting amongst the sawdust shavings of this open Tabernacle has not failed to point them to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Many travel from different states every year, to show their support for a ministry that still represents the truth of God’s Word through its old-fashioned preaching and singing. We are proud to carry on the torch of our founders through time-tested camp meeting that is still as relevant and needed today as it was when it began.
Aside from the nightly messages, the time before and after evening services is an enjoyable time to reacquaint oneself with long time friends and to meet new faces of like faith. Whether the conversation takes place under the Tabernacle or in the dinning hall over a well-deserved hot dog, ice cream, or perfectly cold bottle of water, everyone enjoys the fellowship and memories made.
Our biggest day has always been the Fourth of July celebration where we start our service early at 5:00pm followed by a special BBQ meal with homemade baked beans, coleslaw, and freshly squeezed lemonade. After enjoying a delicious meal, everyone reconvenes for a second service and spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky.
All are welcome! We are looking forward to “Camp Meetin’ Time”!
